EVERYTHING TO BUY FROM GAPs 90s ARCHIVE REISSUE

EVERYTHING TO BUY FROM GAP’S 90s ARCHIVE RE-ISSUE

EVERYTHING TO BUY FROM GAP'S 90s ARCHIVE RE-ISSUE

Because we already bought everything ourselves. Heaven help us (and bring us a good financial adviser).

Consider this a celebratory post of the fact that we spent too much. We always spend too much. But, this time, we spent too much at Gap (we also spent too much at Topman this week, but that’s another story…).

We spent too much at Gap. All because of their 90s Archive Re-Issue.

Chunky crewnecks. Pleated fit khakis. Re-issued logo hoodies. All the goods that made Dawson’s Creek a sartorial success (ummmmmmmm, actually, that’s debatable). But, still…

Everything from the ‘re-issue’ capsule begs a resemblance to contemporary collections by A.P.C. and AMI (as just two examples; check out these bleached overalls from A.P.C.), all donning the 90s as inspiration and succeeding. Couple that with the commercial success of Urban Outfitters and their reissues of Adidas, Calvin Klein, Guess and more, and it all starts to make sense what’s going on here…

What Gap offers instead, then, are… better prices… and we’re totally fine with that, LOL, even if the clothing isn’t that innovative. It’s not like we’re millionaires shopping exclusively at Gucci.

Yet.

Here are our top selects from the collection:

  1. Easy Fit Jeans
  2. Logo Hoodie
  3. Crewneck
  4. Logo Crewneck
  5. Original Boxy Pocket Tee
  6. Mockneck Tee

We’ll file this away as ‘resumé skills include: shopping.’
