PURPLE BRRRPLE: IT’S BEEN SO COLD

It’s been a consistent 50 degrees for the past week. So, naturally, we’ve been singing songs from the classic movie, Frozen. Whenever one of us in the bathroom taking a shower? This is what we sing out, knock-knocks and all.

In a high-pitch, little girl voice.

But, really, it’s been SO cold. On some days, it’s slipped into the mid-forties. Freezing. Absolutely freezing.

We’ve seen those beautiful, picturesque Instagram snaps… icicles on pine trees, a golden retriever running through the snow, a snowball fight that ‘spontaneously’ stopped for a moment, mid-throw, in time for a beautiful, in-focus iPhone snapshot. That all sounds SO nice.

*flips through GQ magazine while wrapped up in cozy, faux fur Jennifer Lopez blanket (THIS, hahaha), drinking glasses of champagne, because, yeah, ‘New Year, New Us,’ turns up portable heater to 80 degrees*

It’s so cold. Peacoat from J.Crew? ON. Fatigue jacket from Gap? ON.

In the case that these freezing temperatures stick around for another month or two, we, finally accepting that ‘winter’ can exist in California, have started layering. While we usually believe layering should be reserved strictly for polar-vortex situations, 40-50 degree weather seems appropriate as well. Two of the same, right?

And, of course, we do love a good coat 😉 Big, chunky coat on top. Skinny, skinny jeans on bottom (PAIGE or Levi’s, always in our closet).
