All opinions are our own. In partnership with Maytag®, to review the 24-Inch Top Control Dishwasher with PowerDry Option.
We’re in the last year of our 20’s. We’ve uprooted our lives from California and now live on the East Coast. And the adulting revelations just keep rolling in.
If you asked us in April, when we moved to New York, whether or not we’d be hosting that many dinner parties (in general), we probably would have answered with something along the lines of, “Absolutely not, we’re total homebodies.”
Fast-forward to 8 months later, and dozens of dinner parties later, we’re thankful to know that at 29 years old, we’re still capable of surprising ourselves… Our grown-up conclusion? Being a homebody with friends is even better than when it’s just the two of us.
Except for the clean up…
We know a lot of people who talk ‘big game’ when it comes to hosting (hello, Martha), but what they never talk about is the after party. And by after party, we really mean, the clean up.
After a ‘night in’ with friends — where a copious amount of wine was probably consumed, if it was a successful night — the last thing we want to do is clean the dishes. Put that at the bottom of “Favorite Housework to Do” and then shred the list. We hate housework.
That’s where our Maytag 24-inch Top Control Dishwasher with PowerDry Option comes in. Adulting revelation #3,246.
We’ve had a partnership with Maytag over the course of the past year, where we’ve been able to useand review a suite of their products, including the:
- 30-inch Wide Bottom Mount Refrigerator,
- the 30-inch Wide Double Oven Gas Range with True Convection,
- and the Over-The-Range Microwave with Interior Cooking Rack.
Little did we know, however, it would be the Maytag Dishwasher that would send us both into an (actual) tizzy.
Sure. You might think, right off the bat, that the PowerBlast® Cycle just sounds sexy. To which we respond, you’re 1,000,000% correct. It does. A successful first impression.
But, first impressions aside, it’s always great when a date fully delivers. We’re talkingremoving stuck-on food with high pressure spray jets, increased temperature and hot steam to finish the job. A sexy date, from start to finish.
We tested the Maytag Dishwasher against a party of 6, complete with a 4-course menu of pizza, dumplings, Indian food, and dessert (including a birthday cake). A medley of flavors, yes, but we left the menu up to our guests. We might have been the hosts, but we were the true beneficiaries of the meal ? ?
Aiming to test the full capabilities of the Maytag Dishwasher itself, we skipped a full rinse and simply placed every plate, utensil, serving ware, wine glass and water glass (as they were from after the party) inside.
See it to believe it.
When a machine takes the ‘work’ out of ‘housework,’ that’s called a level-up in adulting.
