Prepare to be amazed.
Amidst every gift guide we’ve ever done and we’ll continue to do — check back later this week 😉 — we present to you, the ultimate gift to give this holiday season… DRUMROLL PLEASE…
PHOTO PRINTS.
We know it’s a difficult thing to imagine as a millennial — taking a photo from your iPhone and having it physically printed… say, “what?!” — but, nothing says, “I actually care about you,” “you matter to me,” and, “remember how EMBARRASSING we were that one night when we walked into a tree branch,”more than a physical reproduction of a memory shared together. Sincerely.
Although, we wouldn’t mind diamonds as gifts, too. Photos and diamonds? The perfect combination 😉
But, for the holidays this year, we ordered 200 photo prints and enlargements from Walmart, focusing on key moments of 2017 shared together with friends and family. The prints start at $0.09 (seriously, no joke), and so the total price was a far cry lower than what we expected to spend on the holidays this year. Take that, dwindling bank account.
Holidays aside, there’s another chapter to this story, though.
We might be avid photographers, but we never get around to printing photos in general. THE TRUTH COMES OUT. Couple that with the fact our gallery wall was missing any and all representations of our friends and family, and suddenly, printing photos became both a gift to others as well as a gift to us. Why didn’t we have multiple photos of all the memories we’ve shared?
As fast-paced as our life has become, we have, in effect, neglected what really matters to us — our friends and family, and the memories we’ve shared together… 2017 was (and still is) such an incredible year for us, memory-wise, and so printing photos triggered a newfound awareness — an awareness that once in a while we just need to slow down and remember how important everyone in our life is to us.
It’s easy to get lost in an Instagram feed, scrolling from photo to photo. But, when we look at the photos we’ve printed of our friends and family, the impact isn’t lost.
Those moments were and will forever be important to us — framed perfectly and hung up on our wall.
So, here’s the 411: we chose to have all prints shipped directly to us (arriving in a super quick 5 days), but we could have selected same-day prints, had we gone directly to a Walmart ourselves after uploading to the Photo Prints Builder online. For questions on quality, as we’re sure we’ll be asked? There’s absolutely no question; we were impressed with the thickness of the paper and the gloss and matte finishes.
Combined with a gold picture frame or two, we wrapped everything up with a neat bow 😉
Happy holidays!
