EVERYONE SHOULD EXFOLIATE PART II

EVERYONE SHOULD EXFOLIATE, PART II — A REVIEW

Brock and Chris, of Yummertime, using Clinique For Men Sonic System Deep Cleansing BrushPart II to Everyone Should Exfoliate.

To the good people of the world (still): you really, really, really should exfoliate.

Consider: dead skin cells. Ew.

Hook, line and sinker. Everyone should exfoliate. The easiest way being with a cleansing face brush (instead of, say, with our grubby, bare hands… “grubby,” ewwww).

And so, here’s the 411:
Clinique reached out to us, asked if we’d partner up with them and review their Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brushes. And we were all like, “YES, OUR FACES ARE SO DRY RIGHT NOW.”

The facts:
Normal skin turnover has a one-month cycle, but to spur on healthier skin, you want that skin to turn over faster. A cleansing brush allows the dead skin cells to exfoliate quicker, and from that produce more collagen, and gradually, tighter skin. Like Beyonce’s abs.

Not to mention, a cleansing brush removes oil or debris clogging pores, allowing moisturizers to penetrate much more deeply. Deeper than Kylie Jenner Instagram captions.

The review:
For 30 days, we used Clinique’s Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush as our main way of exfoliation. And loved it.

The brush is extremely gentle, especially in relation to what you’d expect from a men’s product (note: we used their men’s version, but they also have a women’s version too). And all while the automatic time stops the device pretty quickly, we realized we probably exfoliate for too long in general.

As a result, the impact on both of our skin has been pretty noticeable. For Chris, the biggest impact has been in preventing ingrown hairs — he’s had hardly any, especially while growing out some scruff, a.k.a. his attempt to grow a winter coat 😛

For Brock, the impact’s largely been in reducing dryness (to which his skin is prone) as his skin seems more receptive to hydrators and moisturizers after consistently using the brush. Coupled with hardly any irritation to his more sensitive face (poor baby) — most likely due to how gentle the brush is.

Overall, we’d give Clinique’s Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush an A 😉

That second picture is so adorable! People who exfoliate always tend to overdo it, so it’s good that it has an automatic timer thingy.
