JUICED UP

We may or may not have been eating our feelings for the past three weeks. And in doing so, we may or may not have consumed at least two three milkshakes each per week. It also doesn’t help that we live above a 24-hour diner… patty melts, curly fries, pizza, the list goes on and on. Delicious…

But, with Summer hitting its high point in San Francisco and our health hitting a low point, we’re ready for a “fresh” change. Haha! Get it? A “fresh” change… like fresh juice!

Enter, our favorite juice recipe: apple-lemon-cucumber-ginger-kale-deliciousness.

We juiced the following:

8 apples (whole)
3 lemons (peeled)
1 cucumber (halved)
1 piece of ginger (to taste — we start with 2 inches peeled)
1/2 bunch of dino-kale (the purple kale!)

We use the Breville Compact Juice Extractor, but you can make this juice with any type of juicer/ juice extractor, really.

And the taste? Sweet, with a hint of spice from the ginger. Refreshing, tart, and with a kick.
