We’re kickstarting an ongoing conversation on Yummertime about skincare and beauty (YES, bruh, even beauty for men), sharing at least one new product (+ product review) every week. And we’re starting with Boscia’s Tsubaki Swirl — a two-part gel & cream moisturizer.
The 411: the swirled ‘formula’ combines a gel and cream (including anti-oxidant rich tsubaki) to make for a super lightweight moisturizer that penetrates deeply, i.e. the best of both worlds. The cream packs deep hydration and firming (via tsubaki, a.k.a. camellia oil), while the gel packs lighter weight ingredients like sodium hyaluronate, a sodium salt that instantly gives skin volume and elasticity by holding onto water.
Here’s why we chose it: The last thing we want during summer is a moisturizer that leaves a greasy residue. That’s why we tend to stay away from cream-only moisturizers, even if the label reads, “non-greasy.” If it’s a cream, it’s going to leave a layer (even if slight) above the skin. Good for dry, cold weather; not good for when you’re about to sweat in 80-degree+ temperatures.
Enter: Boscia’s Tsubaki Swirl. We needed a moisturizer that packs a punch instantly, and lasts awhile — for us, the hydration keeps for a solid 8 hours/ a whole day.
