WHERE TO: PHIL’S FISH MARKET & EATERY

1

Imagine. Miles upon miles of lobster rolls, as far as the eye can see. If anyone claims they’re a miracle worker, we protest, make THAT happen. Honestly, we’re so ridiculous; we’re talking about lobster rolls now…

BUT, only because we just went to Phil’s Fish Market and Eatery on Saturday. 100 miles south of San Francisco, we go to Phil’s practically EVERY TIME we visit Brock’s family in Hollister, CA. It’s basically a longstanding tradition that can only be explained by the following series of emotions:

Fear: “we’re never, NEVER going to have seafood again in our entire lives!!!!!!!”
More fear: “OUR ENTIRE LIVES” (insert high-pitched gasp)
Rational problem-solving: “so, we need to order $100 worth of lobster rolls, fish and chips, clam chowder, oysters and muscles right now!!!!!!!” (insert ‘lightbulb went off’ facial expression)
Anger: “WE NEED IT RIGHT NOW”
Anger plus more fear: “or else WE’LL ALL DIE WITHOUT ONE MORE TASTE OF LOBSTER OR FISH AND CHIPS. WE’LL DIE.”
Pleasure and happiness: “Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.”

Phil’s is located in Moss Landing, just above Monterey, and so if you’re ever in the area, we recommend it 🙂 It’s also worth the 1.5-2 hour drive down from San Francisco. Unless you’re severely allergic to seafood or shellfish. Then, it’s like a 50/50 toss-up. We do hear they have great chicken tenders, though.

And if you’re vegetarian, their FRIED ARTICHOKE HEARTS. OH NO. WE FORGOT TO MENTION THOSE.
